If you’ve never played LittleBigPlanet 2, or maybe you’ve been on a LittleBigPlanet vacation since the original was released in 2008, well no matter, because this article will guide you through all you need to know to get started in the world of LittleBigPlanet 2.
Before you actually get down and dirty into the gameplay, you’ll be given the option of adjusting your screen display for the game that will fit for your tv. Next, if you’re interested in watching the introduction video to LBP2, you have the option to do so, or to bypass the screen by pressing the ‘X’ button.
After this, it’s time to get started and learn how to move and groove in the world of LBP2. If you’ve played the first installment, you might be familiar with the controls; however, if you’re brand new to LBP or you’re a veteran to the game, but you’ve somehow managed to forget the controls, here’s what you need to know:
To walk, use the left analog stick, and to jump use ‘X’. These will be your basic controls that you need to travel through LittleBigPlanet 2. To grab, throw, pick up, and swing on objects, press and hold R1.
Now, if you’re interested in doing some more entertaining things, you have a few more controls to learn. Using your D-Pad, (up,down,left and right directional buttons), you can control the expressions of your SackBoy or SackGirl. Pressing the up button will control the different levels of happy expressions, down will control the sadness, right button controls anger and the left button controls the scared expressions. You can also move your sack person’s arms by holding R2 to move the right arm, and L2 to move the left arm. You can also punch, do thumbs down, wave, etc. with your arms, based on the current expression of your sack person.
Lastly, you can also control head and pelvic movement of your sack person by shaking and tilting the controller as much as you please. Click the left analog stick aka L3 button, to control the head movement, and click again to control pelvic movement.
LittleBigPlanet 2 can at times be a challenging but always fun platformer for all gamers of any level. Just when you think you’ve mastered the world of LIttleBigPlanet, you’ll have to be a bit more creative to complete the next puzzling level; you also can’t forget the multiplayer community based levels that can take you on a completely new adventure keeping your little sack person on their toes.
